We are looking for an experienced talented Head Chef to join our team. Meal times are the highlight of the day for our residents and good home-cooked food is essential to their wellbeing. You will be required to manage a team, and cook 50-60 meals a day including staff meals.
You will be a self-starter with knowledge of the dietary requirements for older people, good communication and leadership skills, a commitment to high standards and an affinity towards older people.
You will have overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen, planning kitchen staff rotas, undertaking staff supervision and appraisals, liaising with purchasing companies for food orders, maintaining and keeping to a budget, producing menus and new dishes, managing, training and leading the catering team, working with fresh produce and cooking nutritious well-presented food.
You must have 2-3 years experience working in the catering industry at Head Chef level and hold Food Hygiene Certificate level 3 and a City and Guilds qualification or equivalent. You’ll also need the ability to communicate effectively and use an online ordering system.
The work pattern is 5 days on, 2 days off, as well as working alternate Saturdays.
